Pin the Tail on the Piggy
- poster board
- pink card stock
- double-stick tape
This game is played just like ‘Pin the Tail on the Donkey’. Before the party, draw a large piggy on a piece of poster board (or print off a large image of Olivia and paste it onto the poster board). Cut out piggy tails from the pink card stock. On the day of the party, add double-stick tape to the back of the “tails” and write each girl’s name on the front. Blindfold and spin each player around three times before pointing her toward the poster. The player who places her tail closest to the piggy’s rump is the winner. Reward her with a fun party favor!
How Many Red Hots?
- Red Hots cinnamon candies
- 2 clear jars
- slips of paper and pens/pencils
Before the party, fill one jar with red hots. Pour them out; count them; then pour back into the jar again. Save the number, and at the party, invite everyone to guess how many candies are in the jar. Set out slips of paper and pens for your guests to write their names and guesses on. Ask everyone to fold the slips and put them into the second jar. The winner who guesses the closest number wins the red hots!
Divide your guests into two teams. The object of the game is to race to the other side of the relay course, where players will find a tutu, a pair of leg warmers and a piggy ear headband. Instruct each player to put on all of the garments (over their regular clothes) and get their picture taken by one of the adult helpers. Once they’ve been captured on film, they will remove all of the dress up items (leaving them for the next player) and run back to the start line, tagging the next player into the game. The team who completes the race the fastest wins (you are going to LOVE these pictures!).
Piñatas are always a hit at birthday parties. Give your piggies a treat with the Olivia Pull-String Piñata, which perfectly matches your party theme! Pull-string piñatas are especially fun, because kids choose a ribbon and pull together—so everyone wins! They can also be opened the traditional way (by hitting it with a stick) – either way, remember to add the piñata fillers and let the festivities begin!
Pink Pig Punch
Estimated time: 10 minutes
- ginger ale or lemon-lime soda
- raspberry sherbet
This pink punch is sure to fizz its way into the hearts of all your guests. At serving time, place raspberry sherbet in punch bowl (to cut down on splashes). Then add ginger ale or lemon-lime soda, and let everyone watch the punch fizz. Serve with red and white striped straws, of course!
Pink Marshmallow Fluff
Estimated Time: 30 minutes
- 1 box (3.5 oz) strawberry Jell-O
- 1 container (12 oz) Cool Whip
- mini marshmallows (the assorted flavors bag works the best)
- 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple
- 1 can (15 oz) mandarin oranges
- ½ cup of shredded coconut (optional)
Creamy and dreamy, who doesn’t like marshmallow fluff? Mix the gelatin and cool whip together (you want to be sure that all of the powder is dissolved into the whipped topping – this will take a little bit). Fold in the mandarin oranges, pineapple, coconut and marshmallows. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the fluff to set.
Red-hot Tortilla Roll-Ups
Estimated Time: 20 minutes
- 1 tub of whipped cream cheese
- 12 flour tortillas
- 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
- 1/3 cup picante sauce
Don’t worry - the cream cheese keeps this appetizer from becoming too spicy for little guests. Mix the taco seasoning and picante sauce into the cream cheese until all of the ingredients are completely combined. Spread the cream cheese mixture onto each tortilla. Roll them up tightly and place them, seam side down, inside of a container. Chill for 2 hours. Slice each roll into 1-inch slices and serve on a red serving tray.
Pigs in a Blanket
Estimated Time: 20 minutes
- 8 hot dogs (“red hots” are a hit at Olivia parties!)
- 1 package (10 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls
- 8 slices of American cheese
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Wrap your hot dogs in the cheese and then roll them up inside the crescent rolls (place the seam side down to keep everything together without the use of toothpicks). Bake them for 10 -13 minutes, or until they are golden brown. Serve with ketchup and mustard.
