Activities
“Sew” the Eyes on Jewel Sparkles
Estimated time: 30 minutes
Supplies:
- poster board
- large image of Jewel Sparkles
- black card stock
- metallic paint pen
- double-stick tape
- blindfold
Directions:
This game is played just like ‘Pin the Tail on the Donkey’. Before the party, draw a large Lalaloopsy doll on a piece of poster board (or print off a large image of Jewel Sparkles and paste it onto the poster board). Cut out circles from card stock paper (one for each guest), and adorn it with (4) paint “dots” (to make them look like buttons). On the day of the party, add double-stick tape to the “buttons” and write each girl’s name just below. Blindfold and spin each player around three times before pointing her toward the poster. The player who places her button closest to Jewel Sparkles’ eye wins. Reward her with a fun party favor!
Where Is Lalaloopsy Game
Estimated time: 25 minutes
Supplies:
Directions:
A great game for 2-4 players (Ages 4+)! Lalaloopsy is lost and needs to be found. Is she under the couch? In the refrigerator? Buckled up in the back seat of the family minivan? Ask questions and receive clues that lead the way to recovering the included plush ragdoll.
Button Bouquets
Estimated time: 30 minutes
Supplies:
- silk daisies
- jars (tall enough to double as a vase)
- buttons
- ribbons
- stickers
Directions:
Silk daisies feature a generous-sized center – allowing buttons to easily attach (if your guests are younger, you will want to glue the buttons on before the party). Give each girl a few flowers to place into her jar (vase). Using ribbons, stickers and buttons, allow her to decorate the outside of the vase. This fun activity will result in a wonderful take-home favor!
Embroidery Ring Toss
Estimated time: 15 minutes
Supplies:
- embroidery rings
- ribbon scraps
- wooden dowel
Directions:
Before the party, decorate your embroidery rings by tying on scraps of ribbon and stick your wooden dowel into the ground outside. Once your guests arrive, have them line up (you could us a fabric measuring tape as your “start” line) to play the game. Give each player an equal amount of turns to get as many embroidery rings around the dowel as possible. The girl with the most rings wins!
Recipes
Dipped “Button” Cookies
Estimated Total Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- Oreo sandwich cookies
- red food coloring
- white chocolate
- white cake icing
Directions:
These cookies are as cute as a button! Begin by melting the white chocolate in a double boiler. Add a few drops of red food coloring, mix and repeat until you get the desired shade of pink (you’ll need to work quickly!). Dip your sandwich cookies into the chocolate and let them cool on a sheet of wax paper. Once the chocolate has hardened, you can begin by piping (4) dots in the center of each cookie (to make them look like buttons). Serve with milk – they won’t last long!
Pretty In Pink Punch
Estimated Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- ginger ale or lemon-lime soda
- raspberry sherbet
Supplies:
Directions:
This pink punch is sure to fizz its way into the hearts of all your guests. At serving time, place raspberry sherbet in punch bowl (to cut down on splashes). Then add ginger ale or lemon-lime soda, and let everyone watch the punch fizz.
Pink Marshmallow Fluff
Estimated Total Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 box (3.5 oz) strawberry Jell-O
- 1 container (12 oz) Cool Whip
- mini marshmallows (the assorted flavors bag works the best)
- 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple
- 1 can (15 oz) mandarin oranges
- ½ cup of shredded coconut (optional)
Directions:
Creamy and dreamy, who doesn’t like marshmallow fluff? Mix the gelatin and cool whip together (you want to be sure that all of the powder is dissolved into the whipped topping – this will take a little bit). Fold in the mandarin oranges, pineapple, coconut and marshmallows. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the fluff to set.
Cucumber Sandwiches
Estimated Total Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- whipped cream cheese
- dill
- cucumbers, sliced very thin
- cocktail bread
Directions:
What’s more ladylike than cucumber sandwiches? Start by mixing dill into whipped cream cheese. Spread the cream cheese mixture onto slices of cocktail bread and add the cucumber. Cut the sandwiches in half and serve them on a pretty platter.
