After the Party

Collect the Red Balloons!

Collect the red balloons so the bunny has one to say goodnight to every night! Break the party into even teams (The number of teams will depend on the number of party guests.)Blow up 20 balloons for each team and put them one side of the room. This is a timed game (if necessary). When you say go have the first child for each team run and collect as many balloons as they can and run back to the team. Have large garbage bags available for each team so they can have a place to put their balloons. Once all of the balloons are collected, count each team's bag. The team with the most is the winner! When the game is done, you can have the kids play with all of the balloons. (Great photo op!)

Pajama Relay!

  • 2 pajama shirts
  • 2 pajama pants
  • 2 night caps
  • 2 pairs of slippers

Who can get ready for bed the fastest? Divide the party guests into 2 separate teams. Place one of each item in suitcases or laundry baskets at the "start" line. (Have 1 basket for each team). When you yell go, have the first child of each team start to put on the clothes. Once they have on all of the items, have them run to a designated area (use cones or some other kind of marker) and back. Once they get back they pass the clothes to the next child. As the first child removes the items, the next child puts them on. When all items are on, the process is repeated. The first team to have all of their members run the course wins.

Cow Piñata

"Goodnight cow jumping over the moon!" Grab our Cow Piñata and pull string kit for a fun and safe party game! The pull string kit allows younger kids to play with a piñata without having to use a baton to bust it open. Have each child pull one string at a time until the piñata showers them with candy and prizes!

Bedtime Bunny Craft

  • paper plates
  • black, white, and pink construction paper
  • markers
  • crayons
  • glitter
  • glue
  • tape

Let the party guests make their own bedtime bunnies (like the one from the book)! Before the party, use the white construction paper and the pink construction paper to make bunny ears. (Cut them into ovals with points at the top and bottom. The pink will be smaller than the white so it can fit inside of it.) Glue the bunny ears to the top front of the plate (The kids will use the back to decorate). Cut circles out of the black construction paper for the eyes and glue these onto the bottom of the plates to use as bunny eyes. Draw the bunny mouths on however you'd like! (If you don't have that much artistic ability, check online cartoon bunny pictures as a resource). When the party starts, set up a craft area complete with markers, crayons, glitter and glue so the kids can decorate their own bedtime bunnies!

Moon Cake

Estimated Total Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes

This simple and sweet cake looks better when you make mistakes! Simply pour prepared cake mix or your favorite cake matter into a large glass oven safe bowl and bake until done. Once the cake is cool, turn it upside down onto your serving platter. Create small "craters" in the surface of the cake by removing chunks with a spoon and then frost your cake. Once you're done frosting, sprinkle the gray (or silver) edible glitter on the cake so it looks like the surface of the moon! Even if the icing looks bumpy or the craters are uneven, it just adds to the finished look. (If you really wanna go the extra mile, get a cow helium balloon and tie it to a chair behind the cake with a ribbon. Then it will look like a cow is jumping over the moon!)

Rabbit Food! (Trail Mix)

Estimated Total Time: 5 minutes

  • 2 cups rye chips
  • 2 cups M&M's
  • 2 cups pretzels
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 2 cups roasted peanuts
  • sandwich baggies

For while your little rabbits are bouncing around the party space! All you have to do is toss all of the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl, make little baggies labeled "rabbit food" and serve to delighted party guests!

Mush Punch

Estimated Total Time: 15 minutes

  • 40 ice cubes
  • 2 ½ cups of orange juice
  • 1 cup sweet cream
  • blender

Make cups full of mush for the kids! (I promise they will like it much more than the Bunny's bowl full of mush in the book) You'll have to make 2 batches. In the first batch, use 20 ice cubes 1 ¼ cups of orange juice and 1/2 cup of sweet cream. Blend until smooth and pour it into plastic cups. Place those cups in a tray on the fridge and make the 2nd batch. When you've poured the mush punch in the second set of cups, serve it up! Serves 10.

Crescent Moon Sandwiches

Estimated Total Time: 30 minutes

  • croissants (cut in half)
  • ham
  • cheese
  • turkey

The kids will be over the moon about these savory sandwiches! Slice your croissants in half lengthwise and add in the ham/cheese or turkey/cheese. About 15 minutes before lunch or dinner time, set your oven to 375 and warm your sandwiches for about 10 minutes (or until cheese is melted.) Serve with potato chips, French fries or fresh veggies!
