Activities
The Great Explorer
Supplies:
- items to hide
- paper bags
- pen
Directions:
Caillou loves to explore! Bring out the explorer in each child by giving them a list of items to find and collect within a determined length of time. Each child should be given a paper bag with a list of items written on it (make sure there is as many as one item as there are kids. Ten kids = ten buttons.)
The list can be made up of common household items such as buttons, Q-tips, Band-Aids, paper clips, tiny balloons, a penny, and crayons. The first explorer to collect all items on their list is the winner.
Up, Up and Away!
Supplies:
Directions:
Have the children stand behind a line. Give each child a deflated balloon of a different color.
Instruct the children to blow up their balloons and hold them by the neck. Once all the children have their balloons blown up, count to three and have them release their balloon. The balloon that travels the furthest from the release point wins.
Pin the Tail on Rex
Supplies:
- paper picture of Caillou’s toy Rex
- paper Rex tails
- stickers
Directions:
Draw or print a picture of Rex (without his tail). If you print a picture, simply cut the tail off and trace it. Make as many tails as guests. Hang the picture of Rex on a wall, eye level of your guests. Place a sticker on the top of the Rex’s tail. Have the children line up single file. Blindfold the first child. Give them a paper tail and spin them around three times. Point the blindfolded child towards Rex and ask him to pin the tail on the Rex. Mark the spot where the child places the tail with their name. Each child only gets one turn. The child with the tail closest to the correct position wins.
Caillou Pull-String Piñata
Supplies:
Directions:
A game for all that will be a sure hit. The Caillou pull-string piñata will be a perfect match for your party theme! Pull-string piñatas are especially fun, because kids choose a ribbon and pull together—so everyone wins! Or, the piñata can be opened the traditional way with a blindfold and stick.

Rainbow Cupcakes
Estimated Total Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- box of white cake mix
- food coloring
- frosting
Supplies:
- cupcake pan
- cupcake liners
- bowls
Directions:
Kids love rainbows and cupcakes. What’s more prefect than a rainbow colored cupcake! As far as the cake goes, use your favorite box white cake recipe. Follow the directions on the box for preparing the batter. Divide the batter into several small bowls, and color each bowl with your desired food coloring (red, yellow, green, blue, orange, purple, etc). Working with one color of batter at a time, drop about 1-2 teaspoons of cake batter into each cupcake liner (do not stir). Layer with remaining batter colors. Bake and let cool completely before frosting. Yellow frosting is suggested, it’s Caillou favorite color.
Tiny Teddy’s
Estimated Total Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 100g milk chocolate, melted
- mini (fun sized) Milky Way bars (you will need 24)
- 1 box Tiny Teddy Grahams (honey flavor)
- 1 large bag of M&M’s
Directions:
Sort M&M’s by color and cut 12 M&M’s in half with a sharp knife to use for steering wheels. Steering wheel colors should match wheel colors. Remove wrappers from mini Milky Way bars. Cut 24 Tiny Teddies in half at the belly button using a sharp knife. Place melted chocolate into a Ziploc bag and snip a tiny corner off. Squeeze out a few drops of chocolate to glue 4 M&M 'wheels' on each car then place on the serving tray. Place a few drops of chocolate on the top of each 'car' and sit the Teddy's on. Place a drop of chocolate on the 'car' in the front of each Teddy and glue on steering wheels.
