The skirt is made out of heavy felt in order to give it major "poof" qualities. The elastic waist was tiny and so was not comfortable to wear for more than a few hours. The blouse is faux velvet and is fitted and a little too short. I'm a size 4-6 and bought a small which overall, was barely big enough. It served its purpose though and I will certainly use it again.
